AT WORK!

This is the most crucial job in the forest, to keep it clean.  These are the  undertakers of the dead bodies, who keep the forest clean.  It is their job, though nasty.

SUNSET AT GUWAHATI

LONELY TURTLE

JAILED

WANNA FLY AWAY

I wanna fly away, like a bird, in the blue sky high above everything where there is not limit I wanna be a bird and go where the sky and the sea meet I wanna fly high and high up in the sky.

KNOCK, KNOCK .... WHO IS IT?

WATCHFUL WAITING

BORED

THE KING

SILENT LOVERS

MOTHER

EYES

TALKATIVE

NATIONAL BIRD

MOUNTAINS OF KAZIRANGA

The mountain ranges surrounding the Kaziranga forest.

FISHING

The flock of little cormorants in the water of the Dhansiri river, fishing time.

RHINONAP

After a long day of laborious grazing and having a belly full of fresh and green grass, this is the time for a catnap, sorry Rhinonap.

DHANSIRI RIVER IN THE DEEP FOREST

This river flows through the jungle of Kaziranga Reserve Forest.  This is the main source of water for the wild animals.  This is the point where we got down from the jeep to take some rest in the deep forest of Kaziranga, Mihimukh Central Range.

FAMILY SUNBATH

Tortoises are cold blooded animals, so in the chilling winter, they do take sunbath.  These tortoises are having sunbath with full family on the branch of a dead tree.

THE JUNGLE ROAD

This is on the way to our jungle safari.  Thick jungle surrounded us and we kept on going through the jungle on and on.  There was pin drop silence, only the sound of chirping of the birds and the wind blowing and obviously my heart beating could be heard.

DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE

UNCLE CHIPS

These monkeys are really busy having Uncle Chips and would not pay heed to me taking their photos.  This was at Vashista Ashram, Guwahati.

REMNANT

This is the beautiful place near Kaziranga, called Ethnic Village.  There I found this tree and was moved by its beauty.

THE UNDERTAKER...

This vulture was just keeping a keen eye to the jungle, to get the first glimpse of any corpse that is ready to be undertaken.  Always at duty, cleaning the jungle from the dead and decaying carcasses. The true undertaker of the jungle.

FEAR

Always alert, looking behind, as our jeep passed through the jungle, disturbing the quietness and tranquility.  We were the intruders in their world.
